Just too many comedies

It is funny how most bollywood new releases at a time are all so similar in themes. First it were the terrorism movies - Tahaan, Wednesday, Mumbai Meri Jaan. Now its a series of comedies - welcome to sajjanpur, rafoo chakkar, hari puttar, saas, bahu aur sensex, hulla, singh is kinng. And yes there were the horror movies too - 1920, phoonk.

I was looking fwd to Drona but the teasers are indicating more masala than substance - lets see. Fashion teasers are promising - Madhur is truly a class apart director.

By the way - even though its a digression check out this new Indian social bookmarking site - Indimine. Its seems cool - the colors and layout are pretty good.

Latest Upcoming Bollywood Movies

Saw Mumbai Meri Jaan yesterday - an excellent movie. Director Nishikant Kamat though picked up way too many themes for Mumbai Meri Jaan , but has displayed a fine sense of vision and reality. It is a very stirring portrayal of Mumbai blasts. Of the latest movies, besides Mumbai Meri Jaan, currently Rock On seems to be another interesting movie.

I am looking fwd to release of some other interesting upcoming bollywood movies:

Saas Bahu Aur Sensex
Aashayein
A Wednesday

While Hollywood is churning out one great movie after another, Bollywood is yet to get its act together......a plethora of cliches and ridiculous situations is all they are dishing out to the Hindi movie goers. Guys come on, you boast of being artists, be more of that than calculating yet stupid money greedy businessmen, who just cant help but repeat old pathetic formulas.

Same is true for the movie websites in India. We make most movies in a year in the world than any other nation, yet dont have a website which gives honest and trustworthy ratings and opinions.
